The Sculptures of Andrea Andrea Soraperra was born on August 1945, in Penia, a littte village in the Fassa Valley (Trentino Alto Adige - Italy) . His father was a baker and his mother a housewife. Since he was a child, he used to carve every little piece of wood with a little knife. So his parents, because of his natural bent, decided to enroll him at the local School of Art situated in Pozza di Fassa. There, he has been so lucky to have as teacher, the famous wood-carver and Alpine guide TONI GROSS, who has been able to transmit him the most important wood-carving notions. After three years of attendance, having excellent profits in wood-carving, he stays together with his teacher, in his atelier for two years, where he has the chance to improve his capabilities. After many years of experience he finally will find its way to success. At the moment, he is working in Alba di Canazei (Trentino Alto Adige - Italy) where he has his atelier since 1988. Many of his works are in private collections. Below, the artist, Andrea Soraperra, has used our flowers "CRYSTAL DESIGN" to create the setting about the composition. He combines wood and crystal, for a unique effect. |
